Adolescent School Psychology

Writing well, or just getting your whole school life organized are two very common challenges in middle school and high school. For others, math is the nightmare. There’s real help for all three. Usually this does require a diagnosis, to get maximum help from your school board. Too many students are still stuck with clawing their way into post-secondary, only to hit the wall there. Unable to get organized, or to write effectively, or finish your assignments, now you’re at risk for anxiety twisting your thoughts into pretzels or depression robbing you of the energy to study at all. You may even be highly conscientious. Or gifted or talented. On their own, those make no difference. Accommodations, assistive technologies, learning support, and organizational coaching can all be required ingredients of academic success. Sameness is not fairness. Give yourself fairness instead.
