. . . is about constant change. When we were little, change just happened to us. If we were lucky, adults helped us manage it. When we’re adolescent, suddenly it’s our job to change. Not just for gym class but for every new expectation the world can pile on. Who thought this stuff up? Some of it doesn’t even make sense! Yet somehow, we piece SOME of it together and become young adults. There should be medals. Frequently it’s way to scary. The choice of paths, and sometimes even just how to hold it together while you put one foot in front of the other, need to be clearer and easier. Parents are often in the worst spot, to help. Yet at some point, they will be your biggest allies again. The groundwork for that can begin now.
