Child School Psychology

Predicting and preventing learning disabilities at the earliest signs of a struggle. Replacing challenging behaviours with collaborative ones. Being different and being included for who you are. Boosting learning to the max, even when your teacher doesn’t know the answer. WAIT–ESPECIALLY when your teacher doesn’t know the answer. These are the ‘goods’ of child school psychology. It may mean office-based assessment or in-school observation-consultation, or even leading some problem based learning on a case, for the whole school team. One thing is certain: Experienced school psych’s see the longest, long-term view of child and teen development that any health professional could ask for. Even when we meet you for the first time in Grade 12, we can usually trace your patterns from Kindergarten on up. We get to know where each path leads. And how you can start clearing a new path, as quickly as possible. Because: Your educators may be patient, but your development is not.
